Bronx View

Bronx View

By Wayne Addington Images

Seldom is there a perfectly still time in New York and while much of our art taken from the City's many views, on one of our last visits to NYC we journeyed up into the Bronx where these 19th Century houses line many of its streets. They've known fashion, decay and renewal and to today's eye are beautiful. This image explores multiple views at once--multiple homes & stoops, reflections that remind us that the Bronx, like the rest of NYC as an amalgam of new & old. Even in today's architecture we seldom see such banks of beautiful windows inviting views onto the street, a shout to a neighbor, and warm natural light flooding inside. No wonder they're still in favor! Color & reflections to reintroduce some of the energy and sound that are natural to New York.
